I am pleased to announce that Arjo Australia Pty Ltd has acquired the medical equipment service division of MD Engineering Solutions.
Arjo is a global leader in medical devices, services and solutions designed to improve the quality of life for people with reduced mobility and age‑related health challenges. For more than 60 years, both globally and here in Australia, we have helped healthcare providers achieve better clinical outcomes whilst supporting safer, more efficient working environments for carers and clinicians.
As part of this acquisition, we are delighted to welcome members of the MD Engineering Solutions team into Arjo. You will continue to receive service from the highly skilled technicians you already know and trust, now supported by Arjo’s national infrastructure, technical expertise and service capabilities.
MD Engineering Solutions, a Hobart‑based provider of maintenance for medical equipment, is transferring responsibility for servicing products such as medical beds and patient handling equipment to Arjo. This transition enables us to expand our national footprint and enhance the range of services available to you.
You can expect the same responsive and reliable service you have always received – now strengthened by Arjo’s comprehensive medical device servicing portfolio, expanded spare‑parts inventory and statewide support network. This will ensure an even more robust, consistent and future‑ready service experience for both commercial and residential acute and aged care environments.

What is changing?
All future correspondence previously issued under MD Engineering Solutions will now be issued under Arjo Australia Pty Ltd, including communications, packaging, invoices and promotional materials.
What action is required?

Repairs
Electric patient beds
One of our most common repairs is the electric patient bed. Each call-out involves the repair in question and an overall throughout check of the bed to ensure there are no other hidden issues.
Operating tables
We specialise in the repair and servicing of operating tables. We understand the demands in hospitals, particularly with the added challenges of staff shortages. That’s why we have qualified technicians available after hours to respond to any repair and maintenance needs.
Theatre lights
Arjo Australia technicians carry out the repair and maintenance of theatre lights. We also assist with any installation and custom fabrication needs.
Floor and ceiling hoists
We offer ceiling track installation and audits including validation and weight testing to the relevant Australian medical standards. Floor hoists repairs, servicing and testing is also offered.
Mobile medical equipment
Regular maintenance and repairs are offered for all mobile equipment including IV poles and various medical trolleys.
Emergency Breakdowns
Arjo Australia offers a 24/7 emergency response service, 365 days a year. As breakdowns are unpredictable, we have dedicated team members available to respond at unconventional times if required. We offer this service to our contractural clients.
Equipment Maintenance
Arjo Australia follows the Australian Standards for medical equipment preventative maintenance and repairs. We do bi-annual maintenance of medical equipment for hospitals, day surgeries, medical centres, aged care facilities and other locations where medical equipment is required.
- Clients are also offered the option of an up-to-date asset register if required, as a part of the maintenance service.
- Equipment maintenance is planned by collaborating with our clients, we plan start times and scope based on the priorities and expectations of our clients.
Electric Safety Testing
Arjo Australia provide a test and tag service for all electronic equipment. Our electric safety testing is carried out in line with the Australian Standard AS/NZS 3551.
